The Aeon of Aquarius will be the Aeon of Leo Reversed

I have contemplated this idea of late, the Vernal point has travelled almost a half circle through the Zodiac from the Aeon of Leo. The primordial Aeon of Leo marked the end of the Pleistocene geological epoch, and also the end of the archeological Paleolithic age.

The accompanying characteristics of this Aeon were the birth of agriculture and the extinction of the megafauna. The former was however limited geographically to the Near East. Nevertheless, this axial development would come to assimilate the rest of the World. The latter, that is the extinction of large Ice Age animals, was almost universal and coincided with the expansion of humanity.

In the Aeon of Leo, the Vernal point of the Sun was facing the sign Leo but the Earth at the same time was facing the sign Aquarius. That is why the Earth in that Aeon was ruled by the rulers of Aquarius, that is Uranus and Saturn. This, and the birth of agriculture is embodied in Hesiod’s myth about the Golden Age of man, and the overthrow of Uranus by Saturn.

In the upcoming Aeon of Aquarius, the Vernal point of the Earth will face the sign of Leo, and the ruler of men, according to my extension of the Hesiod myth, would be the Sun. The Sun is the giver of life, and if humanity will be ruled by the Sun, the humanity will be the giver of life. In a reversal of the Aeon of Leo, we may see the recreation of the megafauna and perhaps a recession of humanity.

We see signs of it already. Contemporary environmentalism is getting ever more hysterical and militantly advocates a recession of industrialism. The latter is what allowed for the explosion of human population over the last two centuries. In many countries the birth rates are dropping, they are going down even in Bangladesh, I heard. I believe this is a direct consequence of technological progress, particularly in food production and medicine, and general overpopulation.

Science has progressed so far that we may soon be able to bring extinct Pleistocene species back into the World through the means of manipulating the genes. We may even speed up the greening of the Sahara by blanketing the desert with solar power installations. Given the astral symbolism of the Aeon of Aquarius, I believe the Solarpunk, despite being despised by many people, is the accurate depiction of the future. Sorry to disappoint!

Solarpunk artwork features buildings with extensive green spaces that show humanity being concerned about making space for nature alongside generating power using the Sun.

It is rather curious that one of the values of Solarpunk is post-capitalism. Capitalism is the expression of the planet Mercury that happens to be the ruler of men in our Aeon of Pisces. Mercury in Pisces is never satisfied as it is exalted in the opposite sign Virgo. The ideal is growth of wealth, which is the consequence of Jupiter, the ruler of Pisces and thus the divine ideal of our Aeon. Humanity will eventually get over all of this. The new ideal is the one of boundaries exemplified by Saturn, and technological innovation exemplified by Uranus. These two, working in concert will create a new World, new order, and new thinking.

Lastly, the ruler of men in the upcoming Aeon of Aquarius is  the Sun, which in the horoscopes signifies the ego. I believe that our world of neurosis, muscle atrophy, and burnout will be replaced by a World that actually cares about physical and mental well-being. The humans will radiate like the Sun in summer. The ascendancy of the Aeon of Aquarius will be like sun rays bursting through a thick cover of clouds. I don’t want to sound overly optimistic, nothing is without hardship and sorrow, however, people are increasingly aware of these things.

The men of the primordial Aeon of Leo were the first agrarians, every planter looks up to the Sun because he knows his crops grow better where the Sun shines, and when the Sun shines. This observation of the movement of this great luminary eventually gave rise to first astrology, which is essentially the result of observing the Sun, its satellites against the stars of the ecliptic.

Astrology appeared in the first civilisations of Egypt and Mesopotamia because these cultures were the first to write their observations down but humans were observing the stars from very early on. The first observers of the stars were in fact Paleolithic hunters.
