Double Loop of the Zodiac
I haven’t published much about my other passion, the Tarot on this blog.

In the Book of Thoth, Aleister Crowley says that the irregular, numerical arrangement of the Tarot Trumps in relation to Zodiac signs forms a double loop. Also, in the Book of the Law, Crowley had a revelation that Tzaddi is not the XVII Star. Crowley’s solution was to attribute Tzaddi to IV Emperor because Tz goes well with Tzar. Ceasar, Kaiser. The Emperor and Tzaddi were attributed to Aries. Star took the path of He, and was attributed to Aquarius.
But this would mean that on his design there is only one loop, the sequence went a little bit like this.
IV (Emperor, Aries); V (Hierophant, Taurus); VI (Lovers, Gemini); VII (Chariot, Cancer); [ XI (Lust, Leo); IX (Hermit, Virgo); VIII (Adjustment, Libra); ] XIII (Death, Scorpio); XIV (Art, Sagittarius); XV (Devil, Capricorn); XVII (Star, Aquarius); XVIII (Moon, Pisces)
Only one numerical irregularity. A solution was found, Tzaddi is not a star and neither is Aquarius a Star. And the sequence becomes this.
XVII (Star, Aries); ] V (Hierophant, Taurus); VI (Lovers, Gemini); VII (Chariot, Cancer); [ XI (Lust, Leo); IX (Hermit, Virgo); VIII (Adjustment, Libra); ] XIII (Death, Scorpio); XIV (Art, Sagittarius); XV (Devil, Capricorn); [ IV (Emperor, Aquarius); XVIII (Moon, Pisces)
By attributing the path of the Star on the Tree of Life and the sign of Aquarius to the Emperor, two numerical irregularities are created. 11, 9, 8 and 4, 18, 17. This way the sequence stays true to the traditional numerical arrangement and the teachings of Crowley.
The two loops occur at Leo, Virgo, and Libra; and Aquarius, Pisces, Aries. Pisces is considered the end of the Zodiac because the Vernal Equinox in the Tropical Zodiac starts with Aries. But I as a Siderealist think this is totally influenced by Ptolemy. The doctrine of the Astrological ages takes into account the shifting Vernal point. I have heard of the idea that the Zodiac can actually begin with Leo as indicated by the decans. And I personally like this beginning in Leo. Our current geologic epoch, the Holocene begins in the Aeon of Leo.
At present, I know of only the Surfer’s Paradise Tarot that employs this attribution of Aquarius to the Emperor. But in the deck the Emperor is called King. His title appears demoted, something I don’t fully understand at present.
